Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza

Punch up your typical Pepperoni Pizza with a drizzle of hot honey and a smattering of hot & sweet peppers. So delicious and couldn't be simpler for your next homemade pizza night!

Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza

Ingredients

· ~14oz fresh pizza dough

· 1/3 cup marinara sauce

· 4-6oz mozzarella cheese, shredded

· 1oz sliced pepperoni

· 1oz mini sliced pepperoni

· 3 tbsp hot & sweet peppers (like Peruvian pearls, Peppadews, etc)

· ¼ cup honey

· 1-2 tsp Calabrian chili paste

· Fresh basil, torn

Place a pizza stone in the oven at 500F for at least 1 hour before baking.

Line a work surface with a large sheet of parchment paper. Dust the paper with a bit of flour or cornmeal. Using a rolling pin, flatten the pizza dough into a large circle about ¼ inch thick.

Spoon the marinara evenly over the surface of the dough leaving a small border bare for the crust. Cover the sauce with the mozzarella. Shingle the pepperonis over the cheese. Scatter the peppers over the pizza (if using a larger pepper, such as Peppadews, slice or chop before adding to the pizza).

Launch the pizza into the oven on the parchment paper on the pizza stone using a pizza peel or large cookie sheet. After three minutes or so, pull the parchment out from under the pizza. Cook for another 8 to 12 minutes until the bottom of the crust is crispy and the cheese is melted and just starting to brown.

While the pizza cooks, combine the honey and chili paste in a small bowl.

Once the pizza is cooked, remove from the oven and drizzle over a bit of the hot honey mixture. If desired, scatter over the torn fresh basil. Slice and serve.
